CodeHunter Appoints Anurag Jain as Senior Vice President of Engineering
CodeHunter, the Zero Trust for Code security company headquartered in Tysons, Virginia, has announced the appointment of Anurag Jain as Senior Vice President of Engineering. In this role, Jain will lead engineering strategy and platform expansion, helping CodeHunter scale its Zero Trust for Code approach across enterprise software supply chains, endpoint environments, and development pipelines.
The appointment reinforces CodeHunter's mission to extend the principles of Zero Trust security beyond users, devices, and networks — directly into software itself. Rather than asking who is accessing a system, CodeHunter's platform asks a fundamentally different question: can this code be trusted to execute, based on what it is capable of doing?
Founded in 2021 with roots in U.S. government research laboratories, CodeHunter analyzes the behavior and intent of software artifacts prior to execution — helping enterprises prevent malicious code from running, reduce alert overload, and automate security decisions at scale. Jain's hire comes as demand for pre-execution software security controls intensifies across regulated industries.

A Veteran of Zero Trust and Cloud Security
Jain brings a career spanning more than two decades of engineering leadership across cybersecurity, SaaS, analytics, and enterprise software. His background maps directly onto CodeHunter's technical roadmap — particularly his experience building security platforms that operate at cloud scale with strong compliance requirements.
Most recently, Jain served as VP of Engineering at Diliko.ai, where he built and scaled the engineering organization for an AI-driven analytics platform focused on automated data governance and security. Prior to that, as SVP of Engineering at OPAQ Networks (now part of Fortinet), he managed development for what the industry recognised as the first cloud-based Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) and Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) security platform. Earlier in his career, he held engineering leadership roles at WebMD, supporting large-scale consumer platforms.
Notably, CodeHunter CEO Ken Ammon has a direct working history with Jain — having collaborated with him at both OPAQ Networks and Diliko. That prior relationship underpins the confidence behind this appointment.
"I've worked with Anurag at both OPAQ Networks and Diliko, where he built and scaled high-performing, world-class engineering organizations. He has the management skills and expertise needed to extend the CodeHunter platform's leadership position in Zero Trust for Code and pre-execution security."
— Ken Ammon, CEO, CodeHunterZero Trust for Code: The Next Frontier
Traditional Zero Trust models have made significant headway in transforming how organizations govern identity, device health, and network access. Yet software execution itself has remained a largely unaddressed layer — one increasingly exploited through software supply chain attacks, malicious open-source packages, and unauthorized code modifications embedded deep inside enterprise environments.
Jain steps into CodeHunter with a clear understanding of this security gap and a mandate to help close it through platform expansion and engineering organization growth. He articulated the opportunity directly upon joining.
"Zero Trust has already transformed how organizations think about identity, devices, and network access, and now software execution represents its next frontier. CodeHunter is productizing Zero Trust for Code with a new approach to pre-execution software security. I'm looking forward to helping scale the platform and engineering organization behind that vision."
— Anurag Jain, SVP of Engineering, CodeHunterWhat the CodeHunter Platform Does
CodeHunter's pre-execution security approach analyses software artifacts before they are permitted to run. The platform evaluates the behavior and intent of code, enabling enterprises to make trust determinations at the moment a piece of software seeks to execute — rather than relying on detection and response after the fact.
Software Supply Chain Security
CodeHunter enables organizations to evaluate software artifacts traversing their supply chain before they reach production environments, helping prevent compromised dependencies and malicious packages from entering enterprise systems undetected.
Endpoint Pre-Execution Controls
At the endpoint level, the platform provides a pre-execution trust validation layer that stops malicious code before it can run — reducing alert overload and enabling faster, automated security decisions without relying solely on signature-based detection methods.
Development Pipeline Integration
By integrating Zero Trust for Code directly into development workflows, CodeHunter enables security decisions to be made earlier in the software lifecycle — shifting security left in a way that provides auditability and operational resilience for organizations in regulated industries.
Gartner Summit and Broader Market Engagement
Alongside the leadership announcement, CodeHunter confirmed it will be engaging with organizations at the upcoming Gartner Security & Risk Management Summit to discuss the implementation of Zero Trust for Code as a pre-execution security control layer. The company has also released a new Zero Trust for Code whitepaper to support practitioner adoption of the framework.
Jain's appointment signals CodeHunter's intent to aggressively scale both its engineering headcount and its platform capabilities at a time when software supply chain security has become a board-level concern for enterprises in regulated industries. Having previously shepherded the development of landmark security architectures — including the earliest commercial SASE platform — Jain is well-positioned to accelerate CodeHunter's expansion into endpoints, development pipelines, and broader enterprise environments where pre-execution code trust validation is becoming a critical control requirement.
