Ditto, a pioneer in edge computing and peer-to-peer data synchronization, has appointed Yaniv Erel as its new Chief Technology Officer. Erel brings more than twenty years of engineering leadership experience from major technology organizations including Apple, Atlassian, and eBay, where he helped build and scale distributed systems serving billions of users globally.
As CTO, Erel will oversee Ditto’s engineering, product, and support teams during a pivotal growth stage. His responsibilities include driving the company’s mission to reinvent data handling at the edge, elevating system reliability to 99.99% uptime, implementing data-driven engineering practices, and strengthening technical infrastructure as Ditto advances toward IPO readiness.

Erel previously served as Head of Cloud Services Engineering at Apple, where he led teams responsible for multi- and hybrid-cloud platforms supporting Apple’s global services. Before Apple, he oversaw the backbone engineering team for Confluence Cloud at Atlassian, transforming infrastructure while supporting rapid product growth. Earlier in his career, he held senior engineering roles at eBay, architecting near–real-time systems that processed billions of listings.
