Groq, a global leader in AI inference, has announced the expansion of its global data center network with its first European footprint in Helsinki, Finland, developed in collaboration with Equinix. This move aims to meet the growing needs of European customers by delivering unmatched AI inference capacity, lower latency, and cost efficiency at scale.

The Helsinki location offers proximity to European users, reducing latency and enabling faster response times while ensuring strong data governance. This builds upon Groq’s existing U.S. data center in Dallas with Equinix and extends their partnership, providing highly reliable, secure, and predictive connectivity. Through Equinix Fabric®, existing customers can deploy inference workloads to GroqCloud, while new customers across the U.S. and EMEA can access capacity via public, private, or sovereign infrastructure.

The Helsinki expansion offers European enterprises and governments direct, private, real-time access to partners and service providers while maintaining sovereignty and privacy controls. Enterprises can connect to GroqCloud without traversing the public internet, ensuring security and performance.
This European launch follows Groq’s additional deployments in the U.S. (DataBank), Canada (Bell Canada), and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (HUMAIN). Together, these sites are serving over 20 million tokens per second across Groq’s global network. The growth reflects the demand for Groq’s custom-silicon LPU (Language Processing Unit) systems, designed for real-time inference with unmatched speed, scalability, and the lowest cost per token—making large-scale AI viable for both AI-native companies and enterprise organizations worldwide.
