IBM has announced the acquisition of Hakkoda Inc., a global data and AI consultancy, to expand IBM Consulting’s data transformation services. Hakkoda’s expertise will enhance IBM’s ability to help clients modernize their data estates and unlock the full potential of AI-driven business operations.
As a recognized leader in data modernization and an award-winning Snowflake partner, Hakkoda brings significant capabilities in data migration, modernization, and monetization. This strategic move enables IBM to support growing client demand for integrated, cost-efficient, and scalable enterprise data platforms across industries.
Hakkoda also delivers a suite of generative AI-powered tools designed to accelerate data transformation initiatives. These tools, combined with the company’s deep experience in financial services, healthcare and life sciences, and the public sector, will reinforce IBM’s mission to drive business transformation using its AI-powered platform, IBM Consulting Advantage.

The acquisition closed on April 2, 2025. Financial terms were not disclosed.
