The Global Technology Industry Association (GTIA) has released its Channel Trends in Cybersecurity 2025 report, offering insights from a global survey of more than 1,100 IT service providers (ITSPs). The study reveals how ITSPs can tap into the rapidly expanding cybersecurity market and position themselves as leaders in a high-growth, high-demand sector.

GTIA conducted the research to help ITSPs navigate emerging threats, rising market expectations, and increasing complexity at a time when cybersecurity has become essential for every organization.

Key Findings From the GTIA Report

  • Threats are increasing: 31% of surveyed ITSPs experienced a cyberattack in the past year, highlighting the urgent need for stronger internal security controls, routine audits, and staff training.
  • Cybersecurity is still under-prioritized: Even with growing awareness, only about one-third of ITSPs identify cybersecurity as a core business priority.
  • Market growth is accelerating: IDC projects the global cybersecurity market will reach $377 billion by 2028, driven by rising cybercrime, regulatory demands, and ongoing digital transformation.
  • AI is transforming cybersecurity: 52% of ITSPs plan to incorporate AI-powered cybersecurity tools into their portfolios within the next year.
  • Talent remains the biggest enabler: 46% of ITSPs say access to skilled cybersecurity professionals is the number one factor that would allow them to expand their offerings today.
