Independent RealSense Poised to Advance AI-Powered Computer Vision and Robotics

RealSense, a pioneer in AI-driven computer vision, has officially spun out from Intel Corporation and raised $50 million in Series A funding. The investment was led by a leading semiconductor private equity firm with participation from strategic investors including Intel Capital and MediaTek Innovation Fund. Now operating as an independent company, RealSense will focus on accelerating innovation in AI, robotics, biometrics, and advanced vision systems.

The fresh capital will enable RealSense to expand into emerging markets, strengthen its global go-to-market operations, and scale manufacturing to meet growing demand for humanoid and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) as well as AI-powered access control and security solutions.

“We’re excited to build on our leadership position in 3D perception in robotics and see scalable growth potential in the rise of physical AI,” said Nadav Orbach, CEO of RealSense. “Our independence allows us to move faster and innovate more boldly to adapt to rapidly changing market dynamics as we lead the charge in AI innovation and the coming robotics renaissance.”

Proven Market Impact Across Industries

RealSense has established strong traction across robotics, industrial automation, healthcare, and security, with collaborations including ANYbotics, Eyesynth, Fit:Match, and Unitree Robotics. Its acclaimed depth cameras are already embedded in 60% of the world’s AMRs and humanoid robots. The newly launched D555 depth camera, powered by the RealSense Vision SoC V5 and featuring Power over Ethernet (PoE), highlights the company’s leadership in edge AI and embedded vision technologies.

“Our mission is to enable the world to integrate robotics and AI in everyday life safely,” Orbach added. “This technology isn’t about replacing human creativity — it’s about removing danger and drudgery from work while amplifying human potential with intelligent, reliable vision systems.”

Global Manufacturing and Patent Portfolio

RealSense has developed strong global manufacturing capabilities, supported by a vast distributor and reseller network. The company serves over 3,000 customers worldwide and holds more than 80 patents across AI, robotics, and vision system innovation.
