Partnership Aims to Simplify and Accelerate Advanced Robotic Systems
Real-Time Innovations (RTI), a leading software framework provider for physical AI systems, has partnered with Kinova, a global leader in professional and medical robotics. The collaboration delivers seamless integration of advanced robotic technologies with data-centric connectivity—designed to simplify product lifecycles, reduce program risk, and accelerate innovation in surgical robotics and other advanced systems.
By integrating RTI Connext® with Kinova’s expertise, the partnership simplifies and speeds up the design of next-generation platforms. This integration connects robotics to a broader digital ecosystem, combining visualization, AI, sensing, and real-time data interoperability. Both companies were also recently announced as participants in NVIDIA’s Isaac for Healthcare program.
Showcasing the Collaboration
The partnership will be demonstrated at the Surgical Robotics Society Annual Meeting in Strasbourg, France (July 16–20, 2025). At booth #065, RTI and Kinova, in collaboration with MedAcuity, will host a remote teleoperation demo. Attendees can use a haptic controller to operate a Kinova robotic arm located 3,000 miles away—highlighting the potential of real-time connectivity in healthcare robotics.
“This partnership reinforces our mission to accelerate the development of innovative, high-performance medical robotic systems,” said François Boucher, Vice President of Business Development at Kinova. “By combining Kinova’s expertise in surgical-grade robotics with RTI’s real-time connectivity framework, we’re enabling our customers to bring next-generation solutions to market faster and with greater confidence.”
“Our customers are solving incredibly complex challenges at the intersection of robotics, connectivity, and AI,” added Bob Leigh, Senior Director of Commercial Markets at RTI. “This collaboration provides the infrastructure to focus on innovation—whether enabling teleoperation, enhancing precision, or integrating diverse hardware and software environments.”
