Tenstorrent has announced the acquisition of Blue Cheetah Analog Design, a startup known for developing highly-customized analog mixed-signal IP. Blue Cheetah has been a key partner to Tenstorrent, providing advanced interconnects for its chiplet-based products. This move follows a previous announcement of Tenstorrent licensing Blue Cheetah’s die-to-die interconnect IP for its AI and RISC-V chiplet solutions.

The acquisition brings Blue Cheetah’s analog mixed-signal expertise in-house, significantly enhancing Tenstorrent’s capabilities in developing high-performance chiplet solutions. As the demand for advanced interconnects and analog/mixed-signal components grows within AI systems, this integration is expected to boost both performance and energy efficiency across Tenstorrent’s roadmap.

Blue Cheetah is led by co-founder and CEO Dr. Elad Alon, a recognized authority in analog/mixed-signal design and a key contributor to the Bunch of Wires (BoW) PHY standard. The company’s team of expert engineers brings deep experience in high-speed interconnects, D2D, DDR, SerDes, and design automation—technologies that align closely with Tenstorrent’s chiplet vision.

Currently, Blue Cheetah’s interconnect IP supports a broad range of foundries and process nodes. Its flagship BlueLynx D2D interconnect subsystem includes physical (PHY) and link layer interfaces that are compatible with both the Open Compute Project (OCP) BoW and the Universal Chiplet Interconnect Express (UCIe) standards.
