ZeroDrift Raises $10M Seed Round to Build the Compliance Firewall for AI
As enterprises troubleshoot their AI systems, governance has emerged as a key challenge. Some are taking a dual approach: one model to handle incoming queries, and another to keep the first one from getting into trouble. ZeroDrift is betting that this second role — the compliance enforcer — deserves its own dedicated company.
ZeroDrift, the compliance firewall for AI, has announced the close of an oversubscribed $10 million seed round. Investors include a16z Speedrun, Reign Ventures, PitchDrive Ventures, U&I Ventures, Active Capital, Geek Ventures, Converge Ventures, Atlas SGR, Founders Future, and others. The funding will accelerate ZeroDrift's deployment as enterprises move to govern AI communication at machine speed.
The company sits between AI models and end users to flag and replace any messages that might present a compliance problem. ZeroDrift is the first company to enforce compliance on every AI-generated communication before it leaves the enterprise — not reconstruct accountability after the fact.
How the Compliance Firewall Works
It might seem strange to build an AI tool to correct other AI systems' mistakes, but ZeroDrift's architecture offers real advantages. The system is triggered by conventional deterministic programs that apply known compliance standards such as SOC 2 and GDPR. The LLM only comes into play once a message has been flagged, rewriting a compliant version of the same message.
"We're able to identify, deterministically, what are all the regulated areas, what's the violation that's being broken, and then we have LLMs that can do the rewrites."
— Kumesh Aroomoogan, CEO, ZeroDriftThe company says its entire system can be run with lower latency and more reliability than a conventional LLM — a key differentiator from major AI labs like OpenAI and Anthropic, which are often already embedded in the underlying systems ZeroDrift governs.
Core Product Capabilities
AI Agent Communication Enforcement
Validates and enforces compliance on every AI-generated email, chat, voice call, and customer interaction before delivery — covering automated pipelines where AI messages may never be seen directly by humans.
AI Copilot & Chatbot Guardrails
Deploys compliant AI copilots and chatbots across regulated industries without risking violations, hallucinations, or off-policy responses — critical for tier-one banks, asset managers, and insurance companies.
Enterprise AI Governance Infrastructure
Centralizes policies, regulatory rules, and oversight for AI systems through a real-time enforcement and control layer — managed through Command, ZeroDrift's control plane.
The Market Opportunity
Since launching in early 2026, ZeroDrift has gained traction with tier-one banks, asset managers, and insurance companies. The company's growth has doubled month-over-month as enterprises increasingly adopt AI and require a compliance and policy enforcement layer to scale it safely.
The most obvious use case is AI chatbots deployed in front of consumers, where rogue answers carry serious consequences. But CEO Kumesh Aroomoogan sees a far larger total addressable market: AI-generated messages inside fully automated pipelines that humans never see. An AI agent can produce thousands of messages before anyone notices a pattern — and accountability for each one is becoming unavoidable.
"It was probably the fastest fundraising I've done in my life. We closed within three weeks, and we will be oversubscribed by 3x on the amount."
— Kumesh Aroomoogan, CEO, ZeroDriftThe seed funding will accelerate the expansion of ZeroDrift's rule coverage across regulated industries globally, alongside broader channel support for AI voice, video, and agentic workflows. As AI proliferates across enterprise pipelines — many of which operate entirely without human oversight — the demand for infrastructure that enforces compliance at machine speed is set to grow substantially.
